Elyse Springer M.A., M.F.T. is a licensed marriage and family therapist (MFC 48196) practicing psychotherapy in the Silver Lake/Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, California. Elyse uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR Therapy and Psychodynamic modalities to assist people with depression, anxiety, death and loss, relationship conflicts, HIV/AIDS, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety disorders, substance abuse and trouble with the creative process for artists and writers.
Elyse began her career in the entertainment industry and was inspired to change course following the tragedy of 9/11, subsequently attending Pepperdine University for her graduate coursework and advanced degree. In addition to her private practice, Elyse has worked at a cross-section of community mental health organizations, including the Suicide Prevention Center, Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health, Pacific Clinics and AIDS Project Los Angeles. She has taught and lectured in a variety of settings including the United States Conference on AIDS, LA’s 211, Los Angeles Best Babies Network, First 5LA, PAC/LAC, WIC, Charles Drew University, Aid for AIDS, SFVCC, and APLA on topics including sexuality, suicide, personality disorders, HIV/AIDS, trauma, homelessness, and Perinatal Mood Disorders and screening.
In addition to her current work in private practice, Elyse is currently training faculty and a Governing Council member of Maternal Mental Health Now (MMHN), board member of the 2020 Mom Project and a past co-chair of the Los Angeles County HIV Mental Health Task Force. She is affiliated with CAMFT, Postpartum Support International, EMDRIA, and PALS.
